MAT 252 Statistical Methods II (4 Credit Hours) Class Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 2 Clinical/Work Experience Hours: 0 Prerequisites: Take MAT 152 Corequisites: None This course is designed to provide a technology-based treatment of multiple sample inferential statistics. Emphasis is placed on two sample hypothesis tests and confidence intervals, linear and multiple regression, analysis of variance, experimental design, and non-parametric techniques. Upon completion, students should be able to draw statistical inferences and communicate results on multiple sample data taken from business and health, social, natural, and applied sciences.
Competencies
Student Learning Outcomes
- Perform tests of normality on univariate and multivariate data and select the appropriate test, either parametric or non-parametric, perform the analysis, and communicate the results.
- Detect the difference between independent and dependent data and select the appropriate inferential test, analyze and communicate results.
- Perform a regression, analyze and communicate the results.
- Perform a one and two factor analysis of variance, analyze and communicate the results.
- Design an experiment, collect data, construct a data file and run the appropriate test and analyze and communicate the results.
- Employ a variety of software to run analyses, construct reports and communicate results in both written and oral presentations.
