TEX 210 Fiber Science (5 Credit Hours) Class Hours: 4 Lab Hours: 2 Clinical/Work Experience Hours: 0 Prerequisites: Take TEX 110 Corequisites: None This course covers the chemical nature of synthetic fibers and its effect on the production processes. Topics include properties of fiber polymers, natural and synthetic fiber structural differences, and methods of producing synthetic fibers. Upon completion, students should be able to explain the differences between natural and synthetic fibers and describe the manufacturing processes for synthetic fibers.
