DET 112 Introduction to Nutrition (3 Credit Hours) Class Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0 Clinical/Work Experience Hours: 0 Prerequisites: Take DMA 050 DRE 098 Corequisites: None This course introduces basic nutrition concepts to the role of the dietetic technician. Emphasis is placed on basic nutrition throughout the lifecycle and the selection of well-balanced diets for the promotion of health. Upon completion, students should be able to identify the basic principles of food, nutrition and well-balanced diets.
