A certificate in Biotechnology is designed for high school students, high school graduates, four-year students, career transfers, and any interested adults who are seeking a job in the biotechnology field.
Program Learning Outcomes
Graduates will:
- Demonstrate math skills necessary for the sciences like the use of computers to solve work-related goals.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the empirical nature of science and the scientific method.
- Demonstrate knowledge of basic lab techniques like analytical weighing and use of volumetric techniques.
- Demonstrate “hands-on” approach covering topics like DNA extraction, transformation, chromatography, and PCR.
