The Software and Web Development track prepares individuals for employment as entry-level computer programmers and web developers with businesses, educational systems, and government agencies.
Students will solve business problems through programming techniques and procedures, using appropriate languages, platforms, and software. The primary emphasis of this curriculum is hands-on training in software and web development and related computer areas that provide the ability to adapt as systems evolve.
Graduates will:
- Identify legal, ethical, social, and security issues related to information technology.
- Use the stages of the system development lifecycle to generate documentation for an IT project.
- Demonstrate the ability to design, code, implement, test and document application software using a programming language, test cases, and by industry-standards.
- Identify the workings of basic and complex data structures.
