Medical Billing and Coding Certificate (C25310C)

The Medical Billing and Coding certificate program prepares individuals for positions in medical and allied health facilities requiring a comprehensive knowledge of ICD and CPT codes and computerized billing software. Employment opportunities include hospitals, medical offices, research facilities, health insurance companies, billing agencies, and allied health facilities. This program is available online and should be started in the fall semester.

Program Learning Outcomes

Graduates will:

  1. Code patient procedures accurately utilizing the current CPT coding system related to medical office administration.

The credits obtained from this certificate may be applied toward the associate degree in Medical Office Administration or the Medical Billing and Coding diploma.

Major course credits earned over five years ago will not apply toward this certificate.
