LEX 288 Elder Law (3 Credit Hours) Class Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0 Clinical/Work Experience Hours: 0 Prerequisites: None Corequisites: None This course provides an overview of laws especially relevant to older persons. Topics include healthcare decision-making, living wills, powers of attorney, financial and estate planning, government benefits, housing issues, elder abuse, and ethical considerations. Upon completion, students should be able to describe the methods for assisting attorneys in addressing legal issues pertinent to the elderly.
