PHY 253 Modern Physics (4 Credit Hours) Class Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 3 Clinical/Work Experience Hours: 0 Prerequisites: PHY 251 Corequisites: None This course uses calculus-based mathematical models to introduce the fundamental concepts that describe the physical world. Topics include atomic structure, nuclear processes, natural and artificial radioactivity, quantum theory, and special relativity. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the principles involved and display analytical problem-solving ability for the topics covered.
