AST 111 Descriptive Astronomy (3 Credit Hours) Class Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0 Clinical/Work Experience Hours: 0 Prerequisites: RED 090 and MAT 070 or MAT 080 or MAT 151 or MAT 161 ; or DMA 010 , DMA 020 , DMA 030 , DMA 040 , DMA 050 , and DMA 060 Corequisites: AST 111A This course introduces an overall view of modern astronomy. Topics include an overview of the solar system, the sun, stars, galaxies, and the larger universe. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the universe around them. This course has been approved to satisfy the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement general education core requirement in natural sciences/mathematics.
