NUR 213 Complex Health Concepts (10 Credit Hour) Class Hours: 4 Lab Hours: 3 Clinical/Work Experience Hours: 15 Prerequisites: BIO 168 ; BIO 169 ; BIO 275 ; CIS 110 ; ENG 111 ; ENG 112 , ENG 113 , OR ENG 114 ; PSY 150 ; PSY 241 ; NUR 111 ; NUR 112 ; NUR 113 ; NUR 114 ; NUR 211 , NUR 212 Corequisites: Humanities Elective This course is designed to assimilate the concepts within the three domains of the individual, healthcare, and nursing. Emphasis is placed on the concepts of fluid/electrolytes, metabolism, perfusion, mobility, stress/coping, violence, health-wellness-illness, professional behaviors, caring interventions, managing care, healthcare systems, and quality improvement. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to provide quality, individualized, entry level nursing care.
