Manufacturing Technology is a course of study that prepares students to use basic engineering principles and technical skills to identify and resolve production problems in the manufacture of products.
Includes instruction in machine operations and CNC principles, production line operations, computeraided manufacturing (CAM) and other computerized production techniques, manufacturing planning, and quality control.
Graduates should qualify for employment as a manufacturing operator, quality assurance inspector, CAD/CAM operator, or technical apprentice.
Program Learning Outcomes
Graduates will:
- Understand and apply basic industrial safety concepts.
- Understand the fundamental concepts of mechanical systems, gearing, engineering materials and production processes.
- Understand the application of sensors, actuators, valves and other components needed in automation systems including fluid flow and basic robotics.
