This curriculum is designed to give an individual entry-level skills needed to gain employment as a machinist or (CNC) Computer Numerical Control Programmer.

It is recommended that students have the necessary math and reading skill before enrollment in this program.

The courses taken in this certificate program may be applied toward the Computer-Integrated Machining Technology degree program.

Program Learning Outcomes:

Graduates must demonstrate:

  1. Knowledge and hands-on competencies in manufacturing/mechanical production, computers, CNC machining operation, setup, and programming of various systems, and (CAM) Computer-Aided-Manufacturing.
  2. Ability to think critically about technical problems, communicate effectively, and perform as a responsible professional.
  3. Graduates will understand ethical/social responsibility, respect for diversity, and commitment to quality, timeliness, and continuous improvement.
