The Office Administration diploma curriculum is designed for the individual entering, upgrading, or retraining in the office occupations. Special emphasis is on basic office duties and responsibilities for the computerized workplace.
Study in areas such as keyboarding, oral and written communication, and word processing will enable the individual to function effectively as a receptionist, general office technician, or computer operator.
Program Learning Outcomes:
- Students will demonstrate effective use of computer software applications to perform office functions related to office systems technology.
- Students will demonstrate proper use of terminology and effective communication techniques related to office systems technology.
- Students will demonstrate the ability to manage working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Students will demonstrate the ability to define a problem, identify possible solutions, and develop and implement solutions to issues arising in a business setting (individually and-or in work groups).
- Students will be able to identify professional, ethical, and social issues related to office systems technology.

Note(s):
Course credits in OST earned over five years ago will not apply toward the diploma in Office Administration.
The courses taken in this diploma may be applied toward the Associate of Applied Science degree in Office Administration. |
