SMT 110 Play-by-Play (3 Credit Hours)

This course introduces students to methods used to plan for and execute work as a play-by-play announcer for live sports broadcasts. Topics include game preparation, working with analysts and reporters, proper tone and inflection, and best practices in play-by-play announcements during live broadcasts. Upon completion, students should be able to perform a play-by-play broadcast for a live sporting event.
