MAT 175 Precalculus (5 Credit Hours) Class Hours: 4 Lab Hours: 2 Clinical/Work Experience Hours: 0 Prerequisites: None Corequisites: None This course provides an intense study of the topics which are fundamental to the study of calculus. Emphasis is placed on equations and inequalities, functions and their graphs, with special attention to polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic and trigonometric functions, and analytic trigonometry and geometry. Upon completion, students should be able to solve practical problems and use appropriate models for analysis and prediction. This course has been approved to satisfy the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement general education core requirement in natural sciences/mathematics.
