NUC 220 Nuclear Systems II (3 Credit Hours) Class Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0 Clinical/Work Experience Hours: 0 Prerequisites: None Corequisites: None This course provides the student with an overview of the primary systems in a nuclear power plant. Topics including this course are containment systems, primary systems such as reactor vessels and reactor coolant and reactor coolant pumps, system pressure and water level control, fuel assemblies and refueling water system. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of nuclear reactor primary systems and the ability to describe the functioning of and the interactions between the system parts.
