MEC 145 Mfg Materials I (3 Credit Hours) Class Hours: 2 Lab Hours: 3 Clinical/Work Experience Hours: 0 Prerequisites: None Corequisites: MAT 070 or MAT 101 or DMA 010 , DMA 020 , DMA 030 , DMA 040 , DMA 050 , and DMA 060 This course introduces a variety of manufacturing materials and common processing techniques. Emphasis is placed on the processing, testing, and application of materials such as wood, metals, plastics, ceramics, and composites. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of fundamental engineering applications for a variety of materials, including their process capabilities and limitations.
