CHM 092 Fundamentals of Chemistry (4 Credit Hours) Class Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 2 Clinical/Work Experience Hours: 0 Prerequisites: RED 090 and MAT 060 or DMA 010 , DMA 020 , and DMA 030 Corequisites: MAT 070 or DMA 040 , DMA 050 , and DMA 060 This course covers fundamentals of chemistry with laboratory applications. Topics include measurements, matter, energy, atomic theory, bonding, molecular structure, nomenclature, balancing equations, stoichiometry, solutions, acids and bases, gases, and basic organic chemistry. Upon completion, students should be able to understand and apply basic chemical concepts and demonstrate basic laboratory skills necessary for success in college-level science courses.
