Advising and Testing Services

The Advising and Testing Department provides academic advising, transfer advising, and testing services to current and perspective Gaston College students. The Advising Center is located on the second floor of the Myers Center at the Dallas Campus. Advisors are also available to meet with students on the Kimbrell Campus and Lincoln Campus. Testing services are provided by appointment at all three campus locations.

Academic Advising

Academic advising is an integral part of student success. All new students are required to seek assistance with course planning from an academic advisor their first semester. The majority of new students enrolling are advised in the Advising Center during their first semester. Pre-health, undecided, and special credit students are advised in the Advising Center beyond their initial semester. The Transfer Advising Center helps students in planning and completion of Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, Assocaite in Engineering, and Associate in Fine Arts degrees at Gaston College. It is recommended that continuing students meet with their assigned advisor and log into Aviso on a regular basis to review academic plans and progress.
