EMS 270 Life Span Emergencies (3 Credit Hours) Class Hours: 2 Lab Hours: 2 Clinical/Work Experience Hours: 0 Prerequisites: EMS 120 ,EMS 130 and EMS 131 Corequisites: None This course, required for paramedic certification, covers medical/ethical/legal issues and the spectrum of age-specific emergencies from conception through death. Topics include gynecological, obstetrical, neonatal, pediatric, and geriatric emergencies and pharmacological therapeutics. Upon completion, students should be able to recognize and treat age-specific emergencies and certify at the Pediatric Advanced Life Support Provider level.
